Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you use portwarp, we collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service:

  • Account information: Email address, username, and hashed password when you register.
  • Usage data: Tunnel metadata (creation time, protocol, port), bandwidth consumption, and connection timestamps. We do not inspect or store the content of your traffic.
  • Device information: Device name, operating system, app version, and IP address for session management and security.
  • Payment data: When you upgrade, payment is processed by Paddle. We receive your subscription status and invoice metadata but never see your full card number or banking details.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To create and maintain your account and tunnels.
  • To enforce plan limits (bandwidth, tunnel count).
  • To secure the service — detecting abuse, unauthorized access, and DDoS attempts.
  • To send transactional emails (welcome, password reset, invoices).
  • To improve the product based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Paddle: Our payment processor, to handle billing and subscriptions.
  • Infrastructure providers: Server hosts where relay nodes run, which see IP addresses for routing purposes only.
  • Legal obligations: If required by law or to protect our users from harm.

4. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account exists. Connection logs are automatically purged after 30 days. If you delete your account, all personal data is removed within 14 days, except where retention is required by law.

5. Cookies

We use only essential cookies for:

  • Session management (keeping you logged in).
  • Theme preference (light/dark mode).
  • Cookie consent state.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.

6. Security

All tunnel traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. API access is protected with JWT tokens. We conduct regular security reviews of our infrastructure.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and export your data.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Withdraw consent for optional communications.

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@portwarp.com.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice.
